You choose what you carry

A driver is not one job. The person doing school runs on a bicycle in the morning and the person taking rides across town at night are not interchangeable, and an app that pretends otherwise ends up ringing the wrong phone.

So the Cyca driver account now carries a setting called Driving for, and it lists exactly four things.

The four

• Marketplace orders — shop and restaurant orders placed inside Cyca. The default, and where most drivers start.
• Partner pickups — a store's own orders, handed over the counter. The shop took the order somewhere else; you carry it.
• PickMe rides — people, not parcels. Rides are a switch on the same account, not a second application to fill in.
• House fleet — steady work for shops that hired you directly.

The wording there is the wording in the app, deliberately. A setting called one thing on a website and another on a phone is a setting nobody trusts.

One rule

The last one cannot be switched off. A driver signed up to carry nothing is not a state worth having — if you want to stop, go off duty. That is what the duty switch is for; this is for saying what you want while you are on.

What it changes today, honestly

Your choice is stored on your driver profile and shown back to you on the map menu, so there is never a question about what you are signed up for. Using it to filter which offers actually ring your phone is the next step in this system, not something it does yet. So if you turn something off today, say so to a shop that asks you directly.
