Community Guidelines

Effective August 11, 2026 Last updated August 11, 2026

Plain summary

Treat people the way you'd want to be treated in a room full of strangers. No harassment, no illegal content, no scams, no impersonation.

Live streams are public performances — everything you say there can be seen by anyone with the link, including people who don't have the app. Reporting and blocking are built into the app, and we act on reports.

Who these guidelines apply to

In plain English: Everyone, everywhere in Cyca — private chats, group chats, communities, and live streams.

These Community Guidelines apply to all conduct on the Services: one-to-one chats, group chats, communities and their channels, status updates, profile content, live streams, and the comments and reactions attached to them. They form part of the Terms of Service.

What is never allowed

In plain English: Illegal content, sexual content involving minors, threats, harassment, and scams — these result in removal and termination.
  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexualisation of minors. Zero tolerance. Content is removed, the account terminated, and the matter reported to the relevant authorities.
  • Threats, incitement to violence, or content glorifying violence against people or groups.
  • Harassment, bullying, stalking, or coordinated pile-ons.
  • Hate speech attacking people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, disability, or serious disease.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery or the threat to publish it.
  • Scams and fraud, including fake shops, advance-fee schemes, and phishing for verification codes.
  • Impersonation of another person, business, or of Cyca staff.
  • Sale of prohibited goods — see the Seller & Commerce Terms.
  • Malware, phishing links, or attempts to compromise other users.
  • Spam, bulk unsolicited messaging, or automated scraping of users or content.

Live stream conduct

In plain English: A live stream is public. Don't broadcast what you wouldn't want a stranger to record.

Live sessions carry additional expectations because they reach a live audience and can be shared as a public web link:

  • Do not broadcast other people without their knowledge, or content you do not have the right to show.
  • Do not show sexual content, graphic violence, or dangerous activity.
  • Sellers are responsible for their own stream — including the comments in it. Moderate your audience or end the session.
  • Do not use a live stream to solicit payment outside the order flow in a way that misleads buyers about what protections apply.
  • Assume permanence: although we do not record streams, any viewer can capture what you broadcast.

Communities and support channels

In plain English: Shop communities exist to support customers, not to spam them.

Buying from a shop enrols you in that shop's support community. Sellers who run a community must keep announcements relevant to the shop, must not use the member list for unrelated bulk messaging, and must respond to support threads in good faith. Members may leave a community at any time.

Order threads exist so a specific order can be resolved. Keep them to that purpose; abuse directed at a seller or a buyer in a thread is treated the same as anywhere else on Cyca.

Contacts and other people's privacy

In plain English: Only sync address books you control, and don't publish other people's details.

Contact sync uploads the numbers of people who are not Cyca users. Sync only address books you genuinely control. Do not publish other people's phone numbers, addresses, or private messages without their consent, and do not forward private content into a public stream or community.

Reporting, blocking, and what we do

In plain English: Report from a long-press; block from the report flow or Privacy settings. We review reports and act.

Reporting is built into the app: long-press a message, long-press a one-to-one chat header, use Group info → Report group, or the flag control in the status viewer. Reports capture the reason, any details you add, and the reporter, target, and timestamp. Blocking is offered alongside reporting and in your Privacy settings.

We review reports and may take action proportionate to the violation. Where the law requires it — most clearly with CSAM — we report to the relevant authorities.

Enforcement

In plain English: Warnings, content removal, feature limits, suspension, or termination — depending on severity.

Depending on severity, history, and context, we may: remove content; limit a feature such as live streaming or contact sync; suspend an account temporarily; or terminate an account permanently. Severe violations — CSAM, credible threats, or serious fraud — result in immediate termination without warning.

If you believe we acted in error, reply to the notice you received or write to [email protected]. We will review and, where we got it wrong, restore the account or content.
